While the start of the 2020 school year has looked drastically different from years prior, we at KCC Orthodontics have done our best to keep up with the changing school schedules. Thankfully, the optional in-person learning was still scheduled to take place on September 8th, but some changes are here to stay. New school procedures have been set in place to keep your family healthy, safe, and smiling.
New Bell Schedule:
To give staff the proper amount of time to disinfect school buses, Katy ISD has changed its start and end hours for each school.
- High school – Classes for high schoolers will begin at 7:15am and conclude at 2:35pm.
- Junior high – Junior high classes will begin at 8:55am and conclude at 4:05pm.
- Elementary school group 1 – Elementary grades have been split into two groups. Please contact your child’s school for grouping specifics. Group 1 will begin at 7:55am and conclude at 3:05pm.
- Elementary school group 2 – Group 2 of the elementary classes will begin at 8:25am and conclude at 3:35pm.
Our Updated Schedule:
Your KCC Orthodontics staff understands how the struggles of a changing schedule may impact your orthodontic treatment time. We want to keep offering you affordable braces and Invisalign with helpful appointment times, so we have added new hours to our Katy ClearChoice treatment office.
Thursday mornings – Every Thursday, our office opens at 7:30am. This time slot is perfect for our patients in certain grades and allows them to schedule braces and Invisalign appointments in plenty of time before the first bell.
Mondays – During certain Mondays every month, we have extended our last braces and Invisalign appointments to start as late as 5:00pm. While this is only true for certain dates, we have opened this time slot in order to accommodate the school schedules that otherwise would not be able to make an early appointment. Please contact KCC Orthodontics on the specifics of our Monday schedules.
Afternoons – We have made available more afternoon appointments between 2:30pm and 5:00pm. These appointments are specifically for braces adjustments or Invisalign delivery and work well for those with hectic morning schedules.
