The average length of orthodontic treatment is 1-2 years. No matter the treatment, they all start with the initial consultation. We want to give you an idea of what you can expect at your first orthodontic visit with KCC Orthodontics.
On Time Office
First of all, we are an on time office. This means that you can expect we will see you for your appointment, at your appointment time. We respect your time and ask that you respect ours in return. Additionally, you can expect to be in and out of our office at the scheduled time.
We offer early morning and late afternoon appointments. Keep in mind, these are popular appointments. They may fill up around student or national holidays.
Checking In and Records
Our practice is off of Pin Oak Rd. You will find us on the second floor of the Pin Oak Atrium building. When you walk into the office, you will meet Annie or Jessica at the front desk. They will get you checked in for your appointment and make sure your paperwork is complete.
Shortly after, Carmen will greet you. She’ll take you back to our records area to take a panoramic x-ray and photos of your teeth. Records are important. Dr. Gutierrez will use them to help determine your unique orthodontic plan.
Determining Your Treatment Plan
Next, you’ll meet one of our Treatment Coordinators (TC), Ashley, Amy or Nessa and they will take you back to their TC room. At this point, they’ll get to know you more and confirm with you any concerns with your teeth and/or bite. They’ll also prepare notes for Dr. G and alert him through our computer lighting system to come see you.
Dr. Gutierrez will come in and chat with you. He’ll do a quick oral exam and determine the best treatment plan based on your needs and desires. At that time, you will have a chance to ask any questions.
Estimating Fees and Scheduling
Before your initial consultation ends, the TC will explain your estimated treatment fees. These fees include any insurance benefit you may have. It will also outline any other determining factors of your specific treatment plan.
If you are ready to start treatment, you will have the option of scheduling your next appointment, if you’d like. If a follow up appointment is necessary, you can also schedule at that time.
