Did you know Dr. G is an IRONMAN? Not only that, but he is a 4x IRONMAN triathlete!! This past Spring, Dr. G raced in his fourth IRONMAN triathlon. It was also the World Championship race. Woah is right!
Dr. Gβs race performance during the 2021 season put him in the top 1% of all athletes in his age group worldwide. This qualified him for the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship!
A full IRONMAN race consists of a 2.4-mile swim, followed by a 112-mile bike, and ending with a marathon (26.2-mile) run. This is not something Dr. G chose to do on a whim. He has been competing in various types of triathlons for over 15 years. He follows a very specific training schedule which consists of training every morning before coming into the office to see patients!
We are so proud of Dr. G for his tenacity in training and making his health a priority. While our team cheered him on from home, his family was able to meet him in St. George, Utah. There they supported Dr. G and cheered him on from the side of the course! Dr. G says this was the toughest course heβs competed in. Seeing his family throughout the race helped him keep going!
Dr. Gβs plan for the future includes racing in other IRONMAN races. But for now, heβll take a break before training again. While he will still continue prioritizing workouts, he is pausing on IRONMAN training. Dr. G wants to spend extra time with his family. His daughter will be graduating from Katy High School in a few years. He wants to be intentional in spending time with her now!

The Tri4Him mission is βto use our participation in the sport of triathlon to honor God, glorify Jesus, and love othersβ. Every triathlon race is first spiritual before its physical.
